mtiks is a startup company based in Cambridge, MA focused on providing anti-piracy solution to iOS (iPad/iPhone/iPod) apps. mtiks launched its initial anti-piracy solution on April 30, 2010 (http://www.pr.com/press-release/235792) for an invite only private beta customers. It was based on research on app piracy, hacker techniques, and app piracy behavior study based on iPhone/iPad apps. “We monitored for a while and noticed that any new app that gets published in iTunes gets cracked within couple of days and sometimes within hours of approval.
